PROCAR80_40Grant Riddall – Winner

Q1: How did you like that Hella-Licht S added to the Österreichring?

GR: I bloody loved it and absolutely hated it! Such a great spin on this track and if you hit it right, it’s great! But on the other hand, you miss your braking by 10 metres and you are screwed.

Q2: Your fastest lap was over half a second faster than both David’s and Thiago’s fastest laps. Still, they more or less stayed in your wake during the entire race. Were you pacing yourself?

GR: I wouldn’t say I was pacing myself as such. I was giving it all my efforts. But some laps I did open the car up a bit. And we must remember that Jaques and Thiago were in a tight battle all race long, which would have hindered there overall pace. I managed to break away from them two early on. Just enough to keep me out of the battle, which helped me massively.

Q3: Zandvoort, although slower, has a similar flow to it as the Österreichring. Can we thus expect a similar dominance from your side?

GR: I won’t lie, I absolutely love Zandvoort. It’s definitely my kinda track. But that doesn’t mean anything. Last year, in 1971 F1-cars, I was chased by Coxon in the same car all race long here, even though it’s a track I class myself to be very comfortable with. So who’s to say what pace I’ll be showing, but I do plan on giving it my absolute all!

Note from the editor: Well, we wouldn’t expect less from Maximus Grant.

Q1: How did you like that Hella-Licht S added to the Österreichring?

TC: The S? Ohhh, the one that tried to take me out of the race on every lap? I love it!!!!

Q2: You are the only one left who can snatch the title from Grant. But that will require wins after a string of second and third placed finishes. Any specific points you plan on improving to get those victories?

TC: I have a miracle consultant that I am working with lately. Also, I saw a few cows flying last week, so I think I have a chance to be the champion.

Q3: Zandvoort, although slower, has a similar flow to it as the Österreichring. Should we thus expect a similar dominance from Grant?

TC: It will be another tough race. Grant is a fast driver and I will try to keep my car on the grey and see what happens in the end. Or maybe I should take Grant to a party on the night before the race and leave him there by mistake.

Note from the editor: And make him drink lots of brown rum with Coca-Cola…

PROCAR80_55David Jaques – Bronze Medal

Q1: How did you like that Hella-Licht S added to the Österreichring?

DJ: The track had a much nicer flow without the chicane, but the added braking zone and crucial exit made it quite a challenge.

Q2: Grant is out of reach after this race. Even if you can mathematically still equal his points tally, you would still be one victory down. It’s fair to say that electric gismo’s and engine trouble substantially contributed to that situation. With that in mind, how do you look back on the season so far?

DJ: Grant has been virtually flawless, certainly deserves to be in the position he is. With a season of only 9 races, having 2 of them count for no points is always going to be painful. Even if I had those points, I would still be a long way away. It would be nice to have more of a chance, but I don’t think anyone can match Grant’s pace this season.

Q3: Zandvoort, although slower, has a similar flow to it as the Österreichring. Should we thus expect a similar dominance from Grant?

DJ: So far the track hasn’t mattered. Grant will be fast for sure. Zandvoort should be a nice track to race on. Personally I think these cars are much more pleasurable to drive on the purpose built circuits as compared to the tight “street” circuits.

Note from the editor: We are with you there brother!
